Description
瀬戸優が手がける《カラフトフクロウ（HEAD）》は、極北の森に生きる静謐な捕食者の気配を宿した彫刻作品です。柔らかな羽毛の重なりや力強い嘴を簡潔なフォルムで捉えながら、その大きな眼差しには厳しい環境を生き抜く知恵と孤高の気配が漂います。普段は決して出会うことのない北極圏の夜の狩人を目前に呼び寄せることで、都市の空間に森の鼓動を立ち上げ、人間と自然との距離、そして「生きる力」の本質を問いかけます。

Artist
1994 年神奈川県小田原市生まれ。
自然科学を考察し、主に野生動物をモチーフに彫刻作品を制作・発表・販売する。
作品と対面した時に、1/1 スケールでしか表現できない空気感に拘り、実物大で制作する。
素材であるテラコッタ（土器）は作家の触覚や軌跡がダイレクトに表面に現れ、躍動感のある作品となっている。展示販売を中心に国内外へ幅広く作品を展開。
ファッションブランドとのコラボレーション、ボードゲームのプロデュースや2024年にはザ・リッツ・カールトン東京のオリジナル日本酒およびウイスキーのラベルデザインを手掛けるなど近年活動は多岐に渡る。
2024年に株式会社 subig を設立。
subigでは野生動物の環境を守るための継続的な寄付を目的にプロダクトデザインを手掛ける。
2025年には原宿神宮前交差点にある原宿八角館ビル1階にてYUGEISHA GALLERY主催「瀬戸優彫刻北極展【ARCTIC POINT # 66°33′50.3″N】」を開催。
