Description
瀬戸優が手がける《オオワシ（HEAD）》は、北極圏の空を支配する猛禽の力強さと緊張感を宿した彫刻作品です。鋭く湾曲した大きな嘴や羽毛の重なりを簡潔なフォルムで表現しながら、その眼差しには冷たい風を切り裂き獲物を見据える鋭敏さが漂います。普段は決して間近に出会うことのない空の覇者を目前に呼び寄せることで、都市の空間に極北の鼓動を立ち上げ、人間と自然との距離、そして「生きる力」の本質を問いかけます。

Artist
1994 年神奈川県小田原市生まれ。
自然科学を考察し、主に野生動物をモチーフに彫刻作品を制作・発表・販売する。
作品と対面した時に、1/1 スケールでしか表現できない空気感に拘り、実物大で制作する。
素材であるテラコッタ（土器）は作家の触覚や軌跡がダイレクトに表面に現れ、躍動感のある作品となっている。展示販売を中心に国内外へ幅広く作品を展開。
ファッションブランドとのコラボレーション、ボードゲームのプロデュースや2024年にはザ・リッツ・カールトン東京のオリジナル日本酒およびウイスキーのラベルデザインを手掛けるなど近年活動は多岐に渡る。
2024年に株式会社 subig を設立。
subigでは野生動物の環境を守るための継続的な寄付を目的にプロダクトデザインを手掛ける。
2025年には原宿神宮前交差点にある原宿八角館ビル1階にてYUGEISHA GALLERY主催「瀬戸優彫刻北極展【ARCTIC POINT # 66°33′50.3″N】」を開催。
